October 18, 2006 HK Day 4...

Woke up late again today. We've been waking up late in HK. I think we're back to our normal hours. Sleep at 3am, wake up at 11. Christina, James, Terry, Dar and Bex came by our hotel again around 11ish.

I just wanted to go across the street to eat thinking it would be fast, but Terry wanted to go somewhere good. So his bro was telling him where to go and we ended up walking about 2 blocks, and coming back around! It turns out his bro was referring to the same restaurant I wanted to go to in the first place! duh! Anyway, food was pretty good. It's like a Gloucester-type restaurant back home.

Today is Macau day - at least for the guys (Dom's stag). The girls were originally going to go today as well, but we decided against it because unlike the guys, there isn't much for us to do but eat and go to the casino. (Although I would have loved some egg tarts from there I heard they are yummy!) So we all took the MTR after lunch - Dom met up with the guys, we met up with Tammy, and we parted ways! If you want to find out what the guys did in Macau, check out Anth's page. Better yet, ask him because I'm sure he doesn't have all the details on there!

The girls ended up walking around and shopping. Went to Causeway Bay, Time's Square, I can't remember where else. Every mall looks the same! It all reminds me of Parker Place or Aberdeen. Again, I didn't buy anything. I have to say, HK is only OK for me. Maybe if I was in more of a shopping mood, but I can't find much of anything I like (I'm just too cheap). The air sucks, and I don't particularly enjoy having AC water constantly dripping on me while walking the streets. Things get better at night though. The night life seems great, even though we've really only enjoyed it that one night we went to that Canadian bar.

Since Tammy had dinner plans, Chris, Bex and I decided to catch the last hour of happy hour. We went back to Langham Place and had drinks at Mes Amis (same place we went to before with the guys) This was more like it! Relaxed, had a few beers and enjoyed a cheese plate. Lounging with the girls is always fun. =) Too bad Tammy couldn't join us.

After about 4 beers each, we were nice and buzzed. We'd been thinking about street food all day, so we thought why not buy food and beer and chill out at the hotel? So that's exactly what we did. Our buzz was quickly wearing off, so we had to move fast! I went to get the mango desserts, Chris went to get food, and Bex went to get the beers. When we all met up, I saw that Bex had bought 4 beers. I was like, 4 beers??! We need to buy more! So we ended up buying 4 more at a market across our hotel.

This is a picture of our spread at the hotel. YUMMY!

Tammy ended up coming by our hotel at around 11ish and hanging out. She had to work on MC material for Dom's reception, so we were trying to help her out. She ended up leaving around 12:30ish I think.

Of course, we each only had 1 beer and we were done after that. We were sprawled out in the living room, tired, full and gassy from the beer. At about 1:30, the guys walked in, and everyone went home. Poor Becky is getting sick too. =(

That's the end of our night!

Out of our days here in HK so far, I have to say I've enjoyed today the most (I'm sure the guys would say the same thing about Macau =p). Hung out with the girls, went for drinks, and ate street food along with some beer back at the hotel. Seems more like a vacation to me!
