October 19, 2006 HK Day 5....

The journey continues. Today we went for lunch at the same place as yesterday. (At the restaurant across from our hotel). It's convenient, close, and fairly good. After lunch, I went back to the hotel to work on Dom & Lieny's slideshow. I basically spent all afternoon doing that. It was pretty uneventful for myself. Lisa, Anth, Bex and Dar went around town and did some more shopping. Chris and James went to look for jewelry. That definitely seems to be a continuing theme here.... "what do you want to do now?", "I dunno, how about eat? or shop?" yep, it's pretty simple here. Ron has never been to HK before, so he has had more of an urge to do some more of the touristy types of things... such as seeing the Big Buddha, taking the star ferry and the tram up to the peak... etc. Nothing spectacular, but something you have to do I guess. I've done those things already, so it's no biggie.. as for Lisa, she has had no urge to do any of those things. She can't wait to get out of HK, she really doesn't like it here. I guess it's just all the rude chinese people, and it doesn't help that she can't communicate with anyone. It's too bad she doesn't like it out here, because I do... but with that said, I think there are better cities to visit.

At about 6:30PM, Anth and myself had to head out to Wan Chai to go to the church for rehersal. Lisa came along too. After rehersal was completed at the church, we all went for dinner at FatAngelo's (an american style italian restaurant). I had lasagna. I don't remember the last time i had non-chinese, or non-filipino food! (fast food excluded)

We met all of Lieny's family, her brother Wil, her sister Sweena, her bridesmaids (Kelly is one of them), and her parents. After dinner, we all kind of dispersed. Anth went clubbing with Kelly, Carmen (Kelly's younger sister), Phil (Kelly's fiance), and Dave Hu. Lisa and I went up to Dom's new home up on the hill along with Dom's mom. We sat there, chatted and caught up. We left at about midnight back to our hotel.

After arriving at the hotel, I completed some finishing touches on the slideshow, and got to bed around 3am. Nite, nite, it's late now.
