Lisa and I woke up pretty early today. 8AM to be exact. Her cousin Frauni was coming to visit us at our hotel at 9am, so we had to get ready. Once she arrived, we sat for a bit, talked and Lisa and her cousin caught up.
Right after that, we were out the door, because we were late for our dim sum date with my Biew Yee (Aunty Margaret) and my Yee Po. We took the MTR to the end of the red line to Tsuen Wan. Once there, we exited the station, and conveniently enough, the restaurant was just up 1 floor. We got to the restaurant, and unfortunately Yee Po had already left because we were 30 minutes late! I felt so bad. Anyhow, we had dim sum with my Biew Yee, and it was nice seeing her again, cause we hadn't seen each other in over 8 years. She's the same... so funny. She cracks me up with all her toys and gadgets. Get this... she has 3 cell phones that she carries with her. And we're talking kick ass cell phones. 3G cell phones which allow for video conversations with other people. She made a call to my Uncle Alfred (who by the way also has one of these video phones), and I spoke to him seeing his face and all through the camera. So cool!!!! She also had a HP Pocket PC with her, and a Nintendo DS. hahaha, she has absolutely everything in that purse! Dim Sum was really cheap too... a dish was about $4.80 HK, which is about 74 cents. hehe. It turns out that Yee Po and Biew Yee go there on a daily basis. Uncle Alfred goes at about 6:30AM, Yee Po follows at about 730am, and Biew Yee strolls in at around 8-8:30am. Geesh! Way too early for my liking! So as you can imagine, Yee Po was waiting around for us till 10am, and well she was tired and walked home. After dim sum, I wanted to see Yee Po, so we walked over to her home which is relatively close to the restaurant. (a 5 minute walk) Yee Po looks good! She looks in good spirits and seems to be healthy.
Afterwards, Biew Yee walked us back to the MTR station, and I had to go pick up some dress shoes for tomorrow's wedding. So we went to Mong Kok, walked around for a bit and I bought some shoes for about $400 HKD. Then after that, Lisa needed to go to Portland Street to check out some stores that sold leather. She had to get some sample swatches and what not, for her handbag line. We entered a couple stores, and I had to act as translator for none of the people in these shops spoke a word of English... I got by well enough, for Lisa got what she wanted and we left happy. After that, we headed back to the MTR and rode it to Tsim Sha Tsui and picked up the suit that Dom got made for me. We happened to bump into Anthony there as well. We took a $2.50 cdn cab ride back to our hotel and I crashed. I slept for about 2 hours cause my sleep the night before was a pretty poor one. When I woke up, I went downstairs along with my laptop and wrote my speech for tomorrow's reception. Ai yah! I'm getting nervous! Speeches suck! So much pressure having to be funny, blah blah blah.
When I went back upstairs, Anthony, Henry (arrived yesterday), and Lisa were just lounging in the room and chatting. Anth, Henry, and myself decided to head out for dinner. Lisa stayed behind because she was now tired. The 3 of us went out to some wonton noodle house, and ate about 4 dishes for about $15 cdn. It was good too! (You can actually eat quite budget here if you want). After that, we went to that dessert place Hui Lau San (or something to that effect) and just had some dessert. We decided to walk through the nearby Night Market at Temple Street which was only a couple blocks from our hotel. Anth purchased a watch, and Henry and I just browsed.
We called it a night after that.... Anth and I are now getting ready for tomorrow.... we've ironed our shirts, showered, got everything ready. It's 2:45am now.... so I'm going to bed. I have to be at the church at 8:30am. It's Long day tomorrow, so I better get some rest. Bye!
